Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Native Nectar Botanicals, the health of your skin goes hand-in-hand with the health of our planet. We strive to create skincare that not only nurtures your body but also respects the Earth. Sustainability is at the heart of every choice we make — from ethically sourced botanicals to thoughtfully designed packaging that minimizes environmental impact. Our packaging is selected to protect product integrity while reducing waste, supporting recycling systems, and encouraging reuse.

Our Packaging Components & Why They Matter

Sulapac® Jars — A New Standard in Sustainable Packaging

We’re proud to incorporate Sulapac® packaging on select products — an innovative material engineered to replace conventional plastics with a bio-based, biodegradable, and recyclable alternative. Sulapac+1

Sulapac materials are made from responsibly sourced, plant-based components like wood side streams and biodegradable biopolymers, with up to 70–100% biobased content and industrial compostability certifications. They are designed to:

  • Break down naturally without leaving harmful microplastics behind. Sulapac

  • Support circularity and recyclability through mechanical or chemical recycling when sorted correctly. Sulapac

  • Reduce carbon footprint compared to conventional fossil plastics. ecosense.nissha-europe.com

How to recycle/compost:

  • Check with your local recycling program whether Sulapac materials are accepted or how to separate them from mixed recycling

  • Many Sulapac jars can be industrially composted where accepted

Why we chose it:

  • Combines beauty, performance, and sustainability

  • Eliminates persistent microplastics

  • Aligns with our vision for packaging rooted in nature

Glass Bottles

Glass is one of the most sustainable packaging materials available. It’s infinitely recyclable without losing quality and can be reused again and again. Our glass bottles protect the purity and effectiveness of your skincare by creating an inert barrier against contamination and oxidation. How to recycle: Rinse and place in your local glass recycling bin, or get creative and repurpose as vases, storage jars, or DIY refinements.

Why we chose it:

  • 100% recyclable with minimal loss in quality

  • Keeps botanical formulas stable

  • Can be reused at home

Plastic Pumps

While we prefer glass for stability and purity, pumps are essential for hygienic and precise application. We use pumps designed to be as minimal and recyclable as possible. By separating the pump components for recycling, we help ensure that less material ends up in landfill.

How to recycle:

  • Remove the pump from the bottle

  • Check with your local recycling program to see if they accept pump components (often outside standard curbside pickup)

  • If not recyclable locally, consider reuse for lotions, hand soaps, or DIY skincare

Why we chose them:

  • Preserve product integrity

  • Provide controlled dispensing

  • Support user-friendly application

Untreated Paperboard Boxes

Our external boxes are made from untreated paperboard, a renewable and recyclable material. Unlike coated or laminated boxes, untreated paperboard can be recycled in most municipal programs and breaks down naturally if composted.

How to recycle/reuse:

  • Flatten and recycle with paper products

Why we chose it:

  • Renewable, low-impact material

  • Easily recyclable in standard paper streams

  • Free from plastic coatings or harmful inks

Sustainability Is a Journey

We believe in continuous improvement. Native Nectar Botanicals will keep exploring better materials, refining packaging designs, and supporting systems that make recycling and reuse easier for our customers and communities. Together, we can nurture radiant skin and a thriving planet.
